Kihei Rent A Car is an authentic, down-to-earth, get what you see, tell it like it is, family business. Our customers can feel it right when they walk in the door.
How does a 29 year old business create such an environment of family, friendly, helpful, authentic, good vibes? It started with Dave Hunkins’ integrity and values, and continues with all of the members of the business. Everyone that works at Kihei Rent A Car is part of a unique family.
One of many examples of how tight knit this group of exemplar individuals are, is the recent 2nd Annual “Friendsgiving” held at Arlene and Jason’s house. They opened their man cave to their Kihei Rent A Car family members in a gesture of gratitude and love.
Everyone brought food to share for a family style meal. The music played, the beverages flowed, and laughter filled the room. Even after working a 7 to 10 hour day together, they all thoroughly enjoyed this sacred time with each other.
Since a rental car business has customers to serve every day of the year, Kihei Rent A Car will be open on Thanksgiving Day until 3pm. At 3 o’clock the employees will go home and spend the afternoon and evening with their families.
This Thursday, November 22nd, a Thanksgiving Day tradition created by Sugar Hunkins will continue. A complete Thanksgiving meal is provided for any employee who is working or not on that day. Several crock pots keep the food warm for hours in the employee break room kitchen. The staff is free to drop in anytime from 11 to 3 for warm food and good company. The soda machine is set to FREE and the day is filled with gratitude for the most amazing employees on this planet.
So, between our outstanding customers and our stellar employees, now you know how the warm and friendly feeling at Kihei Rent A Car is created. We are all a family. We are all connected. We are all grateful for each day we live here on this amazing island.
